thought stream: dreamforce

too big, too large.

I tried to find where the food court is. The map of the mall is digital. Ofcourse I am clueless. There are 200 people for a square inch. Are we social? I have to ask the next guy.

I don't think so

private facebook for enterprise?? salesforce chatter??

I have this hotel that they claim the room they charge 350 dollars a day. Well It took me 10 minutes to convince me that there is a bathroom, not becaus the room is large but it is barley longer than 6 feet in any direction.

Then I tried to find where is the trash can, whose smallness I have no words to describe. it may not be safe for a toddler to play with because they might swallow it.

or is it?

I have tried to find an API to get the meaning of a word. Good luck.

is there anything in it? how does it work? From the noise I here more about Facebook than DRO.

Chatter
When CEOs start talking about technology, time to look for something else.

Especially when they have a haircut more expensive than their gold threaded suits

If I can type. Why type? just read the blogs Dude!!

Really.

Do I really need to see these pictures? what is that? is that a mole??

Chatter: the interface of Salesforce??

Really? why does the American Airlines that she came here left her "Miles Number" empty??

Is that selective ignorance??

Set them and not just be trendy!!

Really, what happened to all the websites that are fundamentally built with user portals?

However there will be an ecosystem of cloud based platforms that will compete. Much like the OSs of today, windows, apple compete.

who is early to the party

drupal
facebook
salesforce

Release isolation

which language?
which database?
single or multiple?
How will it migrate into the future?
How do you migrate between platforms?

appexchange being one of the first or the first of this idea of apps. But again it is an extension of an OS being migrated to the cloud.

Here is what Notepad with a bit of help from jquery and a blog can do.

My suspicion

Focusing on immediate value to small and medium size companies and in time exploded out

Sufficient technlogy to satisfy business

For drupal to challenge something like salesforce, they need to COAGULATE value and deliver it.

It is not done well today. PHP as a language is another challenge.

Why is facebook is using salesforce??

Deliver at every step which is not done today. Don't let your head travel too fast to loose your tail

Deliver value with what you have...

There is always something new and better. but be grounded and deliver value with what you have...

More and more corporate apps may be heading the way of cloud...

great opportunity to integrate data in and out as effectively as possible...

Here is a 2006 note on how email may/need-to get transformed. This may point to how something like Chatter could really encroach on something like outlook

Oh, the link

Beinoff asked Eric of the job situation. the discussion took towards education and spending more money on education.

I personally don't think education is the issue. I belive "jobs" is tied to the unnecessary trendiness of modern societies to look for the prom queen right out of a womb.

Salesforce (the current vertically-horizontal one)
force.com (loose some of the verticalness)
database.com (loose the UI, visual force etc. REST based)
heroku Postgres (Relational db in cloud)

heroku postgres is REALLY cool, but pricey for single at home developers

They are standing on their solid ground (salesforce.com) and are branching out in new ventures. I think they have the right mix to do really well in the next few years. Their vision is right. But I came away thinking they may need to hire hard hitters in their talent pool for some of these efforts.

common stop. All I want is to move my microsoft access database to a simple enough cloud database. At my price point I am still looking. Closer perhaps but still looking.

Every cloud still have some (or lots) of dark linings. Everyone loves their little set of tools that it is practically impossible to move around.
