How to use the exercise

1. Have the child read aloud the poem

Animals have fur or fin,
Scales or feathers, shells or skin.

We have faces, fingers, feet,
Skin and hair that looks so neat!

Tuna fish have fins and scales,
Birds have feathers on their tails.

Turtle shells feel hard and thick.
Cats have fur coats that they lick.

Fish scales, feathers, furry fox
Feel each texture in the box.
