This done through a facility called Temporary macro. Here are the steps.

1.ctrl-mm to start recording the macro
2.ctrl-ms to stop recording the macro
3.ctrl-mp to re-play the macro

Named macros

1.ctrl-mr to start recording the macro: will prompt for a name
2.ctrl-ms to stop recording the macro
3.use the menu to choose the macro to play
4. Once you run it once, you can use Ctrl-ml to replay the last macro
