1. Copy the bufferlist.jar into the jars directory of jedit.
2. When you run jedit next time you will bufferlist listed under the "plugins" main menu
3. By default bufferlist opens up as a floating window.
4. You really want to dock this
5. Go to "utilities/global options/docking/bufferlist"
6. Choose left side docking
7. This will place the buffer list as a verticle slice on the left
8. Click or double click on it to open
9. jedit will remember this setting

How to take a backup of jedit
Make sure you save the .a3le data directory in your personal profile. This is where it keeps the settings including newly saved macros.

How to install by copying jedit
1. Copy the jedit folder as it is
2. Copy the "documents settings/your-id/.jedit" folder to the target machine as well
3. Run jedit.exe. This will prompt you for where java.exe is available. Make sure you point to the bin directory
4. That should work

To fix this use Global Options/Editing
If you use buffer options instead, they will not be applicable for all of the files. Moreover a buffer option seem to get lost on save at times.
