I walked into bestbuy and officemax. It is too bulky. I don't need multifunction anyway.
Looks like all color lasers are bulky.
A friend of mine suggested I look at samsung at Amazon for $150. I may do that.

Pain in the neck next....
I started this at 8 last night. I have registered and unregistered at least 10 times last night. It was 2Am when I gave up. Very reluctantly even called the samsung number. The guy that I spoke to knew nothing. (But he clearly thought he did)
he had me run the registration process through chromebook stipulating that it will work only on chromebook (bunch of bull!), especially expressed at midnight.

It doesnt matter if you do this on chromebook or windows
as long as you do this through the chrome browser.

It appears to be an asynchronous timing of the registration...
although google says the printer is registered, and directs you to google printers site, I didn't see the samsung printer.
But the UI (SyncThru) says it is registered temporarily. (Because when you restart it says it is not registered!!)
So I have done this 10 times, registering and unregistering.
I had to reboot the printer a number of times (power on and off)
I have also checked my netgear router is not blockign any incoming ports. (it was not, as was the default with most routers)
So frustrated went to bed at 2 in the morning. Got up at 7 and chatted with a samsung agent hoping you get quality people in the morning :)
But this time I saw the printer online while I was on chat (Just to prove me wrong)

It allowed me to print a document from google drive
The document is queued in the cloud. I see it. But my printer won't pick it up. I printed a local document just to get the printer out of sleep mode. That didnt do the trick.
I have changed a setting to "events" to be on in the printer management (syncthru). I have also powered on and off the printer.
Not sure which one did it, after a couple of minutes the printer picked up the docs.

This printer seemed to have a VERY LONG DELAY in how it does its things in the cloud
so you will not know if what you did works or not for a good 10 to 30 minutes. Obviously any trial/error has to be constantly rethought.

Real key take away notes
- Yes. it works as a cloud printer.
- So you don't have to return the printer
- It is compact and seem to work ok.
- Follow the directions of samsung
- But ....after registrations step wait 30 minutes to see if you see it in the google cloud
- If not, restart the printer, register again and wait for 30 minutes
- If not, do it 10 times, and sleep at 2, and chat with an agent at 7:27 in the morning :)
- There may be a delay in picking up the queued documents
- You may have to turn on some kind of "wakeup event" to on! (Not sure if this did it or something else - but worth trying)

During printing the driver asks you to sign into google
If you happen to have already signed through chrome then it will assume that is your user account. Otherwise it will ask you for what this is. Once you login it shows you the printers that are yours or shared with you.
So this verification doesn't happen during the driver install but during the printing itself. (makes sense)
