Symptoms
Left eye, the top eyelid boundary next to the eyelashes is swollen all the way along the border.
There is a slight discharge towards the corner of the eye.
There is a very localized tenderness (like a wound to the touch) close to this corner of the eye. Nevertheless the swelling is uniform across.
My eyelashes were stuck overnight in this eye

Background
Last evening around 7 I was rubbing my eyes pretty hard. I have felt I might have ruptured something like a bumpy nerve in the eye. I felt small pain. It was tender until I went to bed.

What can cause it?
Could it be an internal blood vessel rupture? I don't think it is infection.

How can I help it?
Could I take advil or aspirin? If it is a blood vessel, could I worsen it by taking aspirin? Would a warm compress help or worsen (as it might increase the blood flow)? Should I just wait for a day?

Visited a solantic walk in clinic
Seemed to be a lowtech operation. No clue what could have caused this. I insisted some how the rubbing caused it. The young physician, irrespective of the cause dispensed antibiotics and warm compress.
